Berkeley Hills Country Club is a traditional private country club in an extensive park-like setting. It is among those few clubs in the Atlanta area that is not part of a subdivision and is owned by the members.
Like other long-standing clubs, the course has mature tree-lined fairways and challenging greens. Each hole is distinctive due to differing changes in elevation, water hazards and both fairway and green-side bunkers.
The course was designed by Arthur Davis, Ron Kirby & Gary Player. It has been carefully updated over the years only in ways that improve the playability and challenge of the course. The original character of the course remains unchanged.
Recently all of the greens have been resurfaced with the much touted Champion Ultradwarf Bermudagrass. Champion ushered in the new wonder grasses of golf greens a little over 10 years ago. Its growth habit is primarily horizontal with very slow vertical growth which gives an extremely consistent putting surface. It has virtually no grain and better turf density than bentgrasses at mowing heights of 1/8" or less. The result is perfect fast greens, even in a blistering August.
Exciting tournaments are organized under various formats from March through December. The Club is proud of its golf programs, featuring individual tournaments for men and women, couples' competition, an active seniors association and a fine junior program. The well-structured junior program provides the opportunity for children to learn the game through both instruction and play. Our Golf Professional staff is highly trained to offer top-quality golf instruction for individuals and groups of all ability levels.
Important to many of our members is the Club's policy to allow walking the course at any time, including Saturday mornings.
